Jazz, charity and a chance for a free vacation

Each year the Overland Park club puts on the “Jazz in the Woods at Corporate Woods”.  This free two day jazz festival raises money for four very worthy local charities in our community.  We strive to make this a very family friendly event that draws up to 40,000 people each year.  This year we have a goal to raise over $100,000 for charity.

One of the ways that we raise money for the festival is to collect donations of $10 for a chance to win (4) round trip tickets on Delta Airlines plus a $500 travel allowance.  The winning ticket will be drawn at the festival on Saturday night June 15th.  As a bonus, your stub is valid at Nick & Jakes or Wil Jenny’s to receive a FREE entrée with the purchase of a second entrée at full price.  Lesser priced entrée is free.  I would like to ask for any support that you can give by purchasing one or more of these tickets.  It is always difficult to ask for money and I know that you are asked to support many causes throughout the year.

I sincerely appreciate any help you can give.

If you are interested in purchasing tickets (make check payable to Jazz in the Woods, Inc.).  I will need your Name, Address & Phone number for the ticket.  I will then mail your ticket stubs to you. Need not be present to win.

The four charities who will receive support from the proceeds of the event are:

Operation Breakthrough: Operation Breakthrough started in 1971 and now cares for 600 children ages 6 weeks to 18 years.

Lee Ann Britain Infant Development Center: Lee Ann Britain is dedicated to serving children with developmental delays from birth to age six, the Britain Center provides a unique program that involves families in the process of therapy and education.

From clothing to sexual abuse counseling, durable medical equipment and school supplies; the Love Fund is there to help. The organization works directly with social service agencies, churches and public assistance programs.

Future of Hope – The OP South Rotary Foundation: The OP South Rotary Foundation was formed to help smaller charities with specific projects to benefit children in need.  Charitable organizations are eligible to apply for grants which will be used on special needs in our communities. 2009 grants were made to: “Heart to Heart International“, “Paws for Freedom” ,”TLC”  & “Camp Quality”.
