Presidential Message from Jeff Dutzel

Greetings Rotaract KC:

July 1st kicked off another Rotaract year and I am excited to serve as your 2014-15 Club President.  As we begin the New Year, I reflect over the past year on where we have been and where we still want to go.   For such a young club, we have accomplished a lot, and I think you would agree that we have so much more to do.

The 2014-15 year promises to be a year of service, commitment, and fellowship.

We have some great, life-changing service events planned for this year. On October 10th we will see Project Homeless Connect KC come to life.  I remember sitting around a table with 3 other board members when this was just an idea on paper that most thought was too large for us to handle.  This idea on paper has evolved into a true community wide event with founding partners and sponsors.  If you are not already, I hope you plan to be involved in this life-changing event.

Rotary International President, Gary Huang, has chosen Light Up Rotary as this year’s theme.  We join 1.2 million other Rotarians and Rotaractors in Lighting up Rotary.  He states that “Together, we can do so much more than we could ever do alone.  No one should sit alone in darkness, instead, we come together and Light Up Rotary. As each of us Light Up Rotary, we can light up the world.”

There are many ways that Rotaract KC can Light up Rotary, one being Project Homeless Connect KC.

How will Rotaract KC Light Up Rotary this year? How will YOU Light Up Rotary this year?   I encourage everyone to get involved, share your ideas and interests.  If you haven’t been involved lately, I welcome you to the next event or meeting. Rotaract KC, lets get involved and Light Up Rotary!
